About the Regular Slotted Cartons (RSC)
The Regular Slotted Carton — the RSC — is the most-produced box style in the world, and for good reason. Its two sets of flaps meet in the middle, top and bottom, giving you a strong, sealed, stackable shipper with almost no wasted board. When your box’s job is to move product safely and economically rather than to stage an unboxing, the RSC is the smart, unglamorous workhorse that keeps your packaging line cheap and your freight intact.
Because the RSC is so material-efficient, it delivers the lowest cost per box of any style we make — which is exactly why it dominates wholesale, case-packing, and bulk fulfillment. A distributor shipping cases to retail, a manufacturer moving components, a brand packing a dozen units per carton: all of them want strength and price, not a photographic interior nobody will see. We print RSCs in one to four flexo colors so your brand and handling marks travel with the freight without adding cost.
Strength is a spec you choose, not a guess. Our standard RSC runs 200# / 32 ECT B- or C-flute single-wall, which handles the vast majority of shipping and stacking. For heavier contents or taller pallet stacks we step up to double-wall board. Tell us the product weight and how high the boxes get stacked in a warehouse, and we spec the lightest board that passes — no paying for armor you don’t need, no crushed columns at the bottom of a pallet.
The RSC also plays well in a two-box strategy. Many brands ship retail mailer boxes inside plain or lightly-printed RSC master cartons — the mailer does the branding for the end customer, the RSC does the protecting and stacking for the warehouse. It is the most cost-effective way to look premium where it counts and stay lean everywhere else.
